In Memory of Hilda Carper
In 1984, Hilda Carper became the first Executive Director of Connections for the Homeless. Participants at the shelter often said they were at "Hilda's Place", later becoming the official name of the Lake Street location when Hilda retired in 1992. Hilda's legacy lives on as Connections continues to provide eviction prevention, shelter, and housing services. The Connections team is forever grateful for Hilda's contributions to the community.
